Eugene (KMTR) – Angilca Swartout found not guilty in the second trial for a Springfield woman accused of killing her newborn son.
Angelica Swartout was put on trial earlier this year but without enough evidence, it ended with a hung jury. One juror could not reach a 'guilty' verdict.
Prosecutors say Swartout had a baby in 2010, and dumped it in a trash can. The child's body was never found. The defense claims she faked her pregnancy - despite a taped confession to police. They say she pushed her stomach out when friends were around to “appear” pregnant, but never was.
