Roseburg, Or (KMTR) One man is in jail and another in intensive care after a fight involving a baseball bat and a hatchet. Sheriff's deputies say they got several calls about a fight on Castle St. in Roseburg at about 3 o’clock Monday afternoon.

Witnesses said two men were throwing punches in the resident's front driveway, and one was reportedly hit in the head with a hatchet and baseball bat.

26 year old jack Raymond Salberg was rushed to Mercy Medical Center with severe head injuries. 42 year old Brian Duane Rice was taken to the Douglas Count jail, and is facing felony assault charges.

Deputies are still trying to piece together the fight, and say it's possible Rice was acting in self defense. Depending on Salberg’s condition, they may increase or decrease the severity of Rice’s charges.

As of this posting, Salberg remains in intensive care.

Dude...you better pray he doesn't die and that he fully recovers because if he don't... Yer hide is OUR's. The Douglas County DA will have YOU for dinner. One way trip to prizneland for a very long time if you come up short in court.
