EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) - The 4J School District is re-organizing its health services by closing high school health clinics and hiring more nurses.

There are currently four school nurses currently serving the district. That number is expected to nearly triple by next year.

Some nurse practitioners and mental health workers in the schools will be laid off in the process.

New changes by the state legislature require school clinics to take on new medical coding and billing - something 4J isn't prepared to do.
