An estimated crowd of 40,000 lined the streets of Albany for a parade honoring veterans.
The Albany Veterans Day parade is known as the largest West of the Mississippi.

This year’s parade had a showing of over two thousand entries. With a thunder, Patriot Guard Harley riders got things started and luckily the rain for the most part stayed away. Due to the holiday and no school, lots of youngsters were there to wave flags and take in this moving history lesson.

Near the front of the parade was a marching, U.S. Senator Ron Wyden. Senator Wyden said, “...incredibly important especially because we're so proud of our Guard that is over in Iraq right now...this is a really, really important Veterans Day.”

This year marks year 89 for the Albany Veterans Day parade.
