Coquille (KMTR) On December 21, 2011, Officers from the Coquille Police Department arrested and booked two subjects after a victim disclosed to her family allegations of sexual abuse.
After a short investigation, it was determined that the suspects had engaged in sexual intercourse with the victim on several occasions while she was a minor.
Officers interviewed both suspects, victims and witnesses and determined that a crime had occurred.
Officers then arrested suspects:
Spencer James Shimoto, 19, from Coquille for
Rape II
Unlawful Sexual Penetration II
Sex Abuse I
Contributing to Sexual Delinquency of a Minor
The second subject, a minor (17), of Coquille, was arrested for:
Rape II
Unlawful Sexual Penetration II
Sex Abuse I
The 17-year-old subject is the son of Coos County District Attorney Paul Frazier. In a press release he says he and his wife have fully cooperated in the investigation.
"I first want to state that both my wife and I express our sincerest sympathies to this young girl and her family."
"I have instructed the Coquille Police Department, the investigating agency, to treat my family as they would anyone else in this type of case. I have arranged for the Douglas County District Attorneys Office to handle this case. My office will not be involved in any way, shape or form."
