SCIO, Ore. -- A woman died Saturday afternoon after she lost control of her car Friday afternoon, causing it to roll over on Jefferson-Scio Drive.
Linn County Sheriff's Deputies said the crash happened when Linda Sinclair, 49 of Stayton, was driving her Toyota Celica west on the roadway. Crash investigators said she went off the side of the road near W Scio Rd at around 5:45 p.m., driving about 200 feet while halfway in the ditch.
When Sinclair tried to get back on the road her car rolled and landed on the roof, sheriff's officials said.
Emergency crews responded shortly after someone living in the area had heard the crash and called 911.
A crew from the Jefferson Fire Department helped extricate Sinclair from the rolled vehicle. Officials said she died at the scene.
The sheriff's report said that Sinclair was wearing her seat belt.
