BROWNSVILLE, Ore. - Two drivers were taken to the hospital last December when a sedan crashed head-on into an SUV near Brownsville.
Eight months later, troopers arrested the sedan's driver for assault after a state police investigation led to a grand jury indictment.
Police records show that Rhonda K. Horner, 60, of Halsey was driving her Honda Accord west on Highway 228 on December 2, 2013.
Just before 7 p.m. she crossed into oncoming traffic about a mile east of Brownsville, state police said. The Honda crashed head-on into a 2005 Chevy SUV driven by William Brady, 46, of Crawfordsville.
Rescue workers pulled Horner from the wreckage and rushed her to the hospital by helicopter with serious injuries, police said.
Brady was taken to the hospital by ground ambulance for treatment of minor injuries.
The Linn County Grand Jury indicted Horner on a 3rd-degree assault charge in July, issuing a warrant for her arrest.
She was later booked at the Linn County Jail on the assault charge.
State Police are not commenting on their crash investigation at this time.
