EUGENE, Ore. - Catholic Community Services is holding their annual Winter Clothing Drive.

The event has been helping those in need for eight years.

Last year, over 6,00 articles of clothing were collected.

This year, organizers hope to surpass that number.

Sarah McNutt of Catholic Community Services said that while the event began as a coat drive, it has morphed into something much bigger.

“There are a lot more needs to keep people warm than just coats. The high needs we have are coats and warm tops. Also, any rain gear or anything waterproof for people who are currently unhoused, and also footwear,” she said.

There are over 35 locations throughout Lane County where residents can drop off their gently-used items.
