Update: Police confirmed Sharen Floyd's dog Koda and her car were located in the parking lot at Valley River Center on Tuesday night.
EUGENE, Ore. - Running late for the Great Willamette River Cleanup, Sharen Floyd parked her car in the Valley River Center parking lot with her dog Koda inside and headed down to volunteer by the river.
"A little over an hour later, somebody drove me back to where my car was and my car wasn't there," Floyd said. "All I could think of was, 'Oh my gosh, Koda!'"
Her 2010 Honda Fit was gone - with 5-year-old chocolate lab Koda inside.
"I just can't imagine how someone, once they saw that dog, how they could drive away," she said.
Floyd reported her car and dog stolen to police around 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
As of Saturday, neither her dog nor the car have been found.
Floyd is less concerned about finding the car than finding her dog. Beyond the connection with her pet, Koda is a trained service animal.
"Whoever has that car, please take him some place safe so he could come back home," Floyd said.
