EUGENE, Ore. - Brian Hyerstay likes to show of his 1946 Volkswagen.

Considering VW didn't arrive in the United States until 1955, you can understand his enthusiasm.

"I just have always worked on Volkswagens," he said, "and I wanted to get into a unique part of that hobby."

This particular car is one of about 40 remaining examples of the VWs produced in Germany in the first year after the Allies occupied the country at the end of World War II.

Brian Hyerstay's car will be on display Sunday at the Concours on the Green automobile show, a fundraiser for CASA of Lane County.

Admission is $5 at RiverRidge Golf Course. The show starts at 9 a.m. and continues until 4 p.m.
