Police seek witnesses to attempted abduction

EUGENE, Ore. - An 18-year-old woman told police a man attempted to abduct her Thursday near 18th and Bertelsen in Eugene.

As she was walking to her vehicle, a man tried to grab her, according to police.

She was able to break free and run to her vehicle,. The suspect pursued her. As she tried to enter her SUV, he forced open the door and attempted to pull her out, police said.

She fought back, kicking and screaming, and the suspect finally let go and fled the area in a 1990s model black Chevy Extra Cab S-10 pickup, police said.

The suspect is described as white male in his 40s, 6-feet tall, muscular build, balding, with a neatly-trimmed goatee.

He was last seen wearing dark sunglasses, a white, sleeveless tank top and unknown pants.
