Police shoot out windows, bring armored car; suspect surrenders

EUGENE, Ore. - Police shot out the windows of a house and brought in an armored personnel carrier to West Eugene after a man involved in a domestic dispute barricaded himself inside a home.

Officers arrived in a BearCat, an armored police carrier.

Police also shot out the windows of the home in the 4200 block of Royal Avenue on Thursday in anticipation of using gas to subdue the man.

The man came out and surrendered to police before that happened, a spokeswoman said.

The identity of the man and the charges he faces, if any, are not yet available.
