One person hospitalized after apartment fire

EUGENE, Ore. - A fire sent one person to the hospital and damaged several apartments in North Eugene on Monday night.

Firefighters found flames had consumed one apartment by the time they got to the Riviera Village Apartment on River Avenue.

"The resident that was inside the apartment that was onfire had some inhalation and is being treated for that," said Jeff Kronser with the Eugene-Springfield Fire Department.

Fire officials said the Red Cross is helping residents who were unable to stay in their apartments overnight.
