EUGENE, Ore. - The competition started with 30.

By late morning Friday, only 2 remained.

"You shaking yet, bro?" David Nguyen asked his chess opponent Joey Kelly.

The two final comeptitors in the North Eugene High School chess club tournament said they only started playing about a year ago.

But at North Eugene, where chess is a big deal, skills can develop in a hurry.

The chess club members eet daily during lunch to compete, sometimes leaving their most epic unfinished games to continue the next day.

How long will Nguyen and Kelly's championship game go?
