Eugene City Council adds 'gender identity' to non-discrimination policy

EUGENE, Ore. - The City Council passed a resolution Monday amending Eugene's non-discrmination policy to include the phrase "gender identity."

The addition of the clause gives protections to residents who consider themselves to be transgender, gender queer or have no definable gender in their physical appearance.

The phrase puts the city in compliance with state law.
