EUGENE, Ore. -- From singing in a collegiate a cappella group to signing a deal with Sony, one University of Oregon alumnus is pioneering the music industry for a digital age.
Peter Hollens has released over 70 digital singles and co-founded the University of Oregon's male a cappella group "On The Rocks”.
His solo vocal career is flying to new heights after signing a deal with Sony.
Hollens says he's blessed to make a living out of his passion for a cappella music.
With over 750,000 subscribers on his Youtube page, Hollens says technology has made it easier to get your name out there.
“To find your audience out there, and to start your brand, and start your own company,” Hollens said. “You got to do it. I would just encourage everyone out there to follow their dreams and work your butt off.”
His new album on the Sony label will be released October 28.
