ALBANY, Ore. - A crash closed Interstate 5 northbound on Friday afternoon 9 miles north of Albany, Oregon DOT said.

The interstate was back open by 4 p.m., ODOT said.

I-5 is the focus of intensive snow plowing by ODOT crews, and motorists are encouraged to provide as much room as possible for the crews to do their job, Oregon DOT said.

When cars weave in and out of tandem plows, it creates safety problems as well as diminishes the effectiveness of the plows, Oregon DOT said.
