EUGENE, Ore. -- The state’s healthcare website, Cover Oregon, extended its enrollment deadline to January 6, allowing people to sign up and get retroactive coverage through the start of 2014.
About 38,000 people have enrolled through Cover Oregon, 24,000 through the Oregon Health Plan - the state's version of Medicaid.
Here are other dates to remember in addition to the new Cover Oregon deadline.
January 10 - Some new healthcare plans will require their first payments from customers. Some insurers decided to delay the due date after problems with healthcare.gov
January 31 - The end of the current pre-existing condition plan, which is a placeholder for people whose enrollment was slowed by healthcare.gov crashes.
March 31 - The end of open enrollment, and those not enrolled in a health plan could face a penalty.
