AZALEA, Ore. - A car passing in the fast lane on Interstate 5 hit an Oregon DOT de-icer truck Friday, south of Azalea between Roseburg and Grants Pass.

Oregon DOT said cars passing in the fast lane lost control, causing the crash.

No word yet on whether anyone was hurt.

ODOT asks drivers to use extreme caution in the current winter conditions and give a wide berth to emergency response vehicles, de-icer trucks and snowplows.

ODOT advises motorists to follow de-icer trucks and snowplows on I-5 and wait to pass when the equipment is off the highway.
