EUGENE, Ore. - Police want to talk to anyone who witnessed a street fight in Eugene's "Barmuda Triangle" that left one man hospitalized with serious injuries Saturday evening.
Police jailed Rodolfo Zambrano, 32, on a charge of Assault in the Second Degree and a Parole Violation after the incident.
Police said Zambrano punched a 47-year-old man, knocking the man unconscious.
The man fell and hit his head on the sidewalk, police said, and was taken to the hospital with what police described as "serious" injuries.
Police did not identify the victim by name.
The dispute spilled out of a bar at W. Broadway and Olive. Employees ask Zambrano and the man to leave the premises around 8:44 p.m. Saturday.
The area of downtown is home to several bars, earning the nickname the "Barmuda Triangle."
Bystanders told police the dispute continued outside the bar, with Zambrano shoving and punching the victim, police said.
Zambrano ran from the scene, police said. He was spotted by officers, who pursued him for a short distance before catching him and taking him into custody.
