CORVALLIS, Ore. - Police collared a bank robbery suspect and a man accused of helping hi try to escape capture Thursday.

Corvallis Police responded at 9:43 a.m. to a report that the Key Bank at 1817 NW 9th St. had been robbed at knife point.

Officers established a perimeter around the wooded area where the suspect was last seen while detectives reviewed surveillance footage at the bank, police said. A detective recognized the suspect as Chad E. Taylor, 33, a Corvallis-area transients.

When Taylor emerged from the woods, police took him and the man with him into custody.

Police said Taylor had the cash from the robbery on him. Detectives said the second man, 30-year-old Jose F. Semadeni, tried to help Taylor escape.

Police booked Taylor and Semadeni into the Benton County Jail on first degree robbery charges.
