Folding Paper: Museum claims first major origami exhibit

PORTLAND, Ore. - Origami is an international fine art form that is also at the cutting edge of math, science and design, according to an exhibit on view in Portland through January 11, 2014.

"Folding Paper: The Infinite Possibilities of Origami" opened October 19 at the Oregon History Museum.

The museum said this is the first major exhibition to explore the tradition of paper folding both in Japan and Europe.

"Folding Paper" features approximately 140 works by more than 50 international artists. 

The Oregon History Museum, 1200 SW Park Avenue in downtown Portland, is open Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
