LOWELL, Ore. (KMTR) -- A Sweet Home woman was arrested following a deadly crash on Highway 58 near Lowell Monday.

The crash happened Monday afternoon near Milepost 13. Oregon State Police say Traci Lynn Akers, 38, was driving impaired with her 14-year-old daughter as a passenger when her SUV crossed the center line, crashing head-on with another vehicle.

Lori McNamara, 46, of Westfir was driving the other car. She was killed in the crash.

Investigators say Akers and her daughter were hurt, but not seriously. Troopers said Akers was combative with paramedics on the way to the hospital. Akers is facing several charges including DUII, Manslaughter, assault and reckless driving.
