Corvallis (KMTR) – Oregon State Police investigators have released the name of a man who was killed in a single-car accident Sunday morning.

The wreck happened just after 8 a.m. on Highway 99W south of the Corvallis Airport. OSP says a 1994 Chevrolet Blazer, driven by Michael Jarred Corcoran, 21, of Corvallis, off the road, clipped a utility pole and ended up in a ditch.

Corcoran was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt.

The highway was closed for about 90 minutes as troopers investigated the crash.

Oh my God, I can't even imagine. I sat last night watching the t.v. as a message scrolled across the screen about an accident, scared to death one of my family was involved. The pain I felt just worrying was nothing compared to what you have gone through. My heart goes out to you. I truly hope the station listens to your message--it was truly wrong and insensitive.

I think it is a disgrace that your television station boradcast photos of my son's vehicle when all of our family hadn't been notified. Anyone that knew our son - knew the vehicle he drove. When I saw this broadcast - not having seen the vehicle - I felt like dieing myself. Just because you didn't say the name of the person who died in the accident doesn't make the photos any easier for people to view. You need to know that I viewed this and was horrified as the mother of the young man who died,. You should be ashamed of your station,. It is inexcusable. I hope that nobody else has to find out how bad the accident was this way and view it on national television the way I did.
