UPDATE: The deceased victim who was found beside the roadway on Fisher Rd near Devonshire St NE in Salem on the morning of May 22nd has been identified as 21-year old Devan R Matlock of Salem.
An autopsy conducted on the victim on the afternoon of May 21 revealed that he died as a result of trauma to the head. The family of the victim has been notified and the investigation into the circumstances of his death are continuing.

SALEM -- A delivery driver found the body of a man just off a roadway in Northeast Salem.
The body was spotted near the intersection of NE Fisher and Devonshire roads.
The discovery was made about 4:20 a.m. Tuesday on the gravel shoulder. The man has been identified by police, but they have not released his name to the media.
A house fire was reported about 5:30 a.m. on Fisher Road, several blocks south of the body. Police were looking into whether the two may be related.
Police closed Fisher Road as part of the investigation. Motorists should use Lancaster Drive as a detour.
