Winchester (KMTR) The Roseburg Urban Sanitary Authority is advising people stay out of the North Umpqua River near Winchester.

An old pressure main broke sending sewage into the river near the old 99 Bridge. There is no estimate of how much sewage has leaked into the river at this time.

Workers are digging down to the pipe in an attempt to stop the sewage flow. Until it's fixed, people are advised to stay out of the river downstream from the bridge.
