BuddyG: My friend, this crap has been going on for centuries. As a kid I (male) was raped by both men and female "babysitters"...why was none of that reported? because the predators in my life convinced me that if I ever told anyone, I would get into BIG trouble...you never heard about rape of children, and when you did see stories about women raped, often they were scrutinized as some kind of enabler, somehow it was their fault they got raped...couple that with the FACT that while I felt dirty when abused by men, I actually enjoyed the times with the older teenage girls who were entrusted with my care, which in turn made me feel even dirtier...Catholic kid, I knew I was going to rot in hell...so I kept my mouth shut. It can even, these days, take some time for a kid to come out and say "somebody is doing something to me, it is wrong and, I want it to stop" usually out of fear, but also embarrassment. BuddyG...what really is your opinion of too much? In my humble opinion, one case is too much! on a side note and I don't mean to pick on you, but to much, should be too much, I wouldn't say anything normally, but it is obviously not a typo(you did it twice) and how we type here has a lot to say about our academics, and how seriously people will take you...this is not texting, this is communication hopefully on an intellectual level, and yeah there are a few dummies out there who insist on posting their stupid views here...it is obvious who they are (hell I may be one and not even know it) but I do not consider you to be one of them. "two" is 2, "to" is not also, "too" is! "I go to the store, I bought two tomatoes, and the person in front of me did too!" basic stuff really!

This is becoming to much of an occurance in today's society. I know this stuff has happened for a long tome but we are now hearing about to much of it. Also this is the second time in about a month someone from junction city athletics has been arrested. This is not good for this small town.

BTW: conradgagner, this may not be the place to say it, but I have gone through your comments on different issues, and have to say that we really are not that far apart in our views on what is going on in our world today, in fact I actually have a good amount of respect for you and your opinions, I consider you to be a brother in search of the truth...take that any way you wish...I just tend to be a bit confrontational because it is fun to have the back and forth...sometimes we all say things that we wish we didn't, but that is O.K.! I have eaten more than one bar of soap!!! LOL...dave

since this affair was over a period of several months, it will probably be charged as statutory rape...she was willing...and he took advantage of that, still wrong no matter how you look at it, but I do believe that his sentence will be tougher than that of Beard, Masoli, and james put together...sorry Conradgagner, but I just cannot agree with you on this one...only time will tell though...Dave

When this guy gets probation, will it be because he's a star athlete at U of O? Nope. Pay attention to sentences handed down in Lane County--not just high profile ones--and it's easy to see that the U of O players did not get preferential sentences. LaMichael James and Jermiah Masoli got stiffer sentences than this guy will.
