Oregon has announced that head coach Chip Kelly has named redshirt freshman Marcus Mariota as the Ducks' new starting quarterback for the football team. Mariota beat out sophmore Bryan Bennett for the position, replacing Darron Thomas, who left the program last year to enter the NFL Draft.
Oregon starts the season, at home, September 1st against Arkansas State.
