The administrators, council, and managers should all take pay cuts. Not these theatrical freezes or forgoing raises or perks. We need to see some dedication and sacrifice from these "leaders." Who are supposed to LEAD BY EXAMPLE!

Keeping up with the Jones-sounds like to me. Just because others outside our little world make more, doesn't mean our commissioners should be given a 25,000.00 raise. I think someone would gladly take what they are presently earning that has a great eduction and is ethical-these people are not irreplacible.

Randy Cain, good point, but to correct you, there are only 3-4 a shift with 8 hours of no coverage. If they pass this, there will be no chance of earning any trust back, ever.

No way should Liane Richardson be given a raise after the amount of money she has cost taxpayers in law suits. As long as the jail is nothing more than a sieve and deputies remain at shameful staffing levels, no raises should be given to them!

Seriously? Absolutely mindboggling! What on earth makes them think they even deserve the salary they get now? From their choices in decision making I’d say, recall NOW is a better topic for them to consider, and then, taxpayers, let’s actually DO that. (recall all council members) Remember, THEY work for US.

Randy Cain and buddyg79, your first mistake is that your posts make too much common sense. Your second mistake is that you believe that they care what you think.

Good evening and thanks for the coverage. Once the County has reopened the cellblocks of the jail we can't afford to keep staffed, reopened and funded schools that are are going without art, music and other programs they can't afford, and we've returned to a normal Sheriff's staff on any given shift, WITHOUT a tax increase....THEN ask me about a raise. (We're down to what...only 7 sherriffs on a given shift for ALL of Lane County?) Oh, I almost forgot, it would really be nice to have Animal Control Services back on the job at previous levels ....that allowed for not just licensing and shots, but for patrolling as well. (KMTR, thank you for providing a forum for our input.)

I CALL BS ON THIS. With budget cuts on the rest of the county budget they need to up hold that to. We as the tax payers should have a say on this. Everyone needs to LOAD THE VOICEMAIL BOXES of the commissioners and let them know what you think.
