Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller reports on July 17 at 1:28 a.m. Deputies responded to a shooting at LaSalle and South 6th St. Harrisburg.

Upon arrival deputies found Gregory Scott Bachman, 24 of Junction City, with a gunshot wound to the face.

Bachman had gone to the residence of Bobby Joe Wagoner, 60, at 865 South 6th St. in Harrisburg with a group of at least four people to confront the driver of a vehicle from an earlier driving incident involving 'road-rage' that occurred in Junction City at about 8:00 pm. During the confrontation outside the home with the group, Wagoner discharged a single round from a .44 caliber handgun striking Bachman in the face which ended the confrontation.  Bachman was transported to River Bend Hospital in Eugene where he was treated and released for non life threatening injuries.

Deputies report alcohol was a contributing factor in the confrontation.

The investigation is continuing and no charges have been filed at this time.

Proverb: Never take a knife (or 4 friends) to a gunfight. 4 hours later? And take your posse to confront an old man? I think the cops got it about right.

So Gregory Scott Bachman showed up with at least 4 others to "confront' someone at a residence 4 plus hours after the road rage incident and gets shot in the face...hahahahaha comedy! Alcohol was involved? Who was drunk Gregory Scott Bachman or Bobby Joe Wagoner?! Gotta love our Second Amendment! Wonder if Mr. Bachman learned his lesson?

No arrests? So was this a legit self-defense shooting by Bachman? If so, why wasn't Wagoner arrested? If it wasn't self-defensive, then why is Bachman still free? Is this going to be another case like the one where two teens were shot recently in Springfield, where neither the shooter nor the teens were arrested (and still aren't)??
