EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) -- Russell Gene Crummett, age 49, of Eugene was arrested Thursday, November 1, and charged with multiple counts of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, Sodomy in the First Degree and Unlawful Sexual Penetration in the First Degree.

Eugene Police arrested Crummett without incident with the assistance of the University of Oregon Police Department on the UO campus where he is employed. Although he is an employee of the University of Oregon, the crimes alleged did not involve the university in any way.

A Eugene Police Violent Crimes Unit investigation found that at least three girls between the ages of six and twelve were sexually abused by Crummett over a period of months. The victims are not family members, but were acquainted with Crummett. Crummett's residence is located within the Churchill Village Apartments in the 3600 block of West 18th.

Investigators are concerned about the possibility there could be more victims. If anyone has relevant information in this case, they are asked to contact Eugene Police Violent Crimes Detective Ralph Burks at 541 682-5166.

Crummett will be arraigned today at 1:30 PM at the Lane County Jail.
