Eugene, Ore. (KMTR) – The Eugene Police will have to wait on moving into its new headquarters on Country Club Road. The project is delayed by a few months. Employees most likely won’t be able to start moving until mid-July.

Project leaders originally thought they’d be done by April.

Crews are currently working on interior demolition. The real work will start when building permits come in, likely this week.

When it’s finished the new facility will house more than 250 police department employees.

The building is getting an energy efficient heating and cooling system. Also, upgrades to withstand a major earthquake, which has long been a concern for the downtown location.
