Corvallis police search for robbery suspect

CORVALLIS, Ore. (KMTR) -- Police are asking for the public's help in tracking down a suspect in a robbery over the weekend. Officers say on December 8 around 3:40 PM a masked man came into the office building of the Shell station on NW 9th Street with a large knife, demanding money from an employee.

The employee ran away and asked a customer to call 911. The suspect also ran and was seen by witnesses driving away in a small white vehicle. Police say the suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and property.

NW 9th Street is a busy road, especially on a weekend afternoon. Police are hoping a passerby saw something that could help lead them to the suspect. He's described as a white male in his twenties, between 5'10" and 6' tall with thin build and blonde eyebrows. He was wearing a black zip-up hooded sweatshirt with dark pants and a dark gray bandana with light grey triangles covered his face.

Officers are asking anyone who saw anything unusual in the area, especially a white car possibly speeding or driving erratically, to call the police department.
