ALSEA, Ore. (KMTR) -- A Corvallis-area man was cited by Oregon State Police (OSP) following an alcohol-involved single vehicle serious injury crash Wednesday afternoon along Highway 34 near Alsea. Utilizing high angle-rescue personnel and equipment, firefighters removed the driver and passenger from the vehicle located about sixty feet down an embankment before they were transported to the hospital.

On December 12 at approximately 2:45 PM, a 1991 Mazda 626 passenger car driven by Paul M. Harden, age 28, from Corvallis, was eastbound on Highway 34 near Milepost 28 when it traveled off the highway and down a steep embankment.

Harden was seriously injured and passenger Joshua K. Raoth, age 35, from Corvallis, received minor injuries. Both occupants were removed from the vehicle and taken up the embankment by firefighters. They were transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis.
