Winchester, Or (KMTR) Crews on the U.C.C. campus are cleaning up after a truck veered off the road and crashed into a fountain Monday morning.

School security says a large F-350 ran off the road, over the school's lawn, and through a concrete ledge, until finally stopping right in the middle of U.C.C.’s front entrance water fountain.

Deputies say the truck took out a phone box, a giant sign with the school's name on it, and several sculptures built in the fountain on its way to a rest.

School Security was on the other side of the administrative building when it hit.

"It sounded like an explosion of some sort. That's what drew me this way,” says Security Guard John Duberutz, “there was steam coming off the truck from hitting the water, and two gentlemen were making their way out of the truck rather slowly. I just thank God it wasn't a school day, it could have been very bad."

Deputies say the driver was headed home in his work truck with a co-worker, when they both fell asleep, and drifted off the road.

Deputies say no one was hurt, and drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash. The school says the crash did more than thirty thousand dollars in damage.
