SPRINGFIELD, Ore. (KMTR) -- Springfield police have arrested a man accused of beating a 69-year-old man in a church parking lot, leaving him with life-threatening injuries.
The victim was recently released from the hospital but is being watched closely.
Springfield Police arrested 29-year-old Matthew Allen Kegley on Monday. He's charged with one count of second degree assault.
The alleged attack happened after a church function on December 5th at Trinity Baptist Church in the 1100 block of "B" Street.
Police say the victim suffered head injuries in the attack that led to him being hospitalized.
They are not saying what led to the attack, but they say it was witnessed by several people.
