Subsection 36-06 of the Fair Hosing Act made it illegal to discriminate in the provision of brokerage services. Since December of 1961, the rights of individuals to participate in multiple listing services and organizations has been recognized by the federal government. Brokerage services are listings that sellers place their property on to attract prospective buyers. It's a fundamental right that every prospective seller and buyer have the right to these services without regard to their race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or national origin. If somebody believes this right has been violated, they may file a complaint with the Secretary of Housing And Urban Development. For more information about discrimination in the provision of brokerage services, contact a real estate lawyer in your area.
