Eugene (KMTR) "Fish" or friends In Service to Humanity, offers help to anyone who needs it in the form of food boxes, clothing and help with prescription costs.

Last year, the nonprofit had 1,700 calls for help.  The need is up 25% this year.

Fish gets donations of money, food and clothing from several churches.  The agency is 100% volunteers, and right now, they really need more people to donate their time.

Fish coordinator Del Hawkins says the people they help are “very, very grateful--appreciative. Most are short-term clients. It's just a great feeling to be involved in."

"It’s just nice to give back,” agrees volunteer Wendy Unsain. “I have more time than money. It's nice to be able to give back to the community."

Volunteer hours are flexible and volunteers can work weekly or monthly.
