Fresh Summer Fruit Salad with Sherbet
Serves: 4
Ingredients
1 each medium cantelope – peeled and sliced in wedges.
1 each honeydew melon – peeled and sliced in wedges.
8 each – whole strawberries, stem removed
2 each – whole oranges peeled, sliced in rounds
1 red apple, sliced in wedges – dipped in lemon juice (to prevent browning)
1 green apple, sliced in wedges – dipped in lemon juice
1 whole pineapple- not peeled, but instead cut into three rings- and then remove the pineapple center from each of the three.
Green leaf lettuce to cove the plate
Your choice of fruit sherbet
Method
1. Prep all your fruit first then place the fruit aside.
2. Cut the pineapple in half and cut out the pineapple in the middle,
3. Then cut it into chunks
4. Add the leaf lettuce on to your plate.
5. Place the pineapple ring in the center of the plate
6. Arrange the fruit attractively around the pineapple ring. (alternate the fruit and spread it around different areas like you see at restaurants)
7. Place the sherbet ice cream in the center of the pineapple ring.
Those are just the basic ingredients. Feel free to use any fruit you want to- blueberries, marionberries, blackberries, pears, bananas, grapes… and to top it off, add a sprig of fresh mint from the garden!
