Megan Higgens

Megan Higgens joined the KMTR news team in June 2005. She anchors the 6:30 and 11:00 PM newscasts on the weekend and also reports during the week.

Megan received the Oregon Associated Press Best News Writing Award in 2009.

Megan was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. She attended the University of Oregon, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism. Go Ducks!

After graduating, Megan worked for another television station in Eugene as a news producer. She also reported for NewsSource 16’s Douglas County Bureau in Roseburg.

An avid fan of the outdoors, Megan loves everything Oregon has to offer. In her free time, Megan enjoys scuba diving – she’s a certified rescue diver - hiking and trips to the Oregon Coast. Megan also volunteers with the S.M.A.R.T. reading program.

Megan enjoys baking, gardening and spending time with her boyfriend Sean and their two great danes, George and Elizabeth.
