Jared Meyer joined the NewsSource crew in the summer of 2003 as an evening producer.
Before that, he burned the midnight oil as the overnight producer for another local news station.
Before long, Jared took his act in front of the camera.
Now he reports during the week and anchors NewsSource16 on the weekends.
Not to mention delivering a fun-filled weekend forecast.
Jared grew up outside of Seattle, Washington in the city of Woodinville.
His first taste of broadcasting came in high school as a DJ for Falcon Radio.
From there, Jared received a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Brigham Young University. Before coming to Eugene, he worked as an intern at WFAA in Dallas, Texas with their investigative reporting team.
Jared married his college sweetheart Jessica in August 2002 and moved to Albany where they still live today.
On august 12th Jared and Jessica welcomed their first child into the world, little baby Ella.
When not at work, Jared is an avid basketball player and songwriter on his guitar. He also speaks fluent Spanish after serving a two year mission for his church in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
