Cyd joined the KMTR news team in June of 2012 after graduating from the University of Oregon with a major in Journalism and a minor in English. Cyd was originally KMTR’s Roseburg Bureau Reporter, but after just six months was able to move back to Eugene to report from Lane County.
Cyd got her first taste of a real news room during the summer of 2010 when she interned at KING 5 News in Seattle. She worked as a web producer for KING 5 for three months and absolutely loved it. At the University of Oregon, Cyd used her flair for journalism to produce DuckTV News, the university’s only campus television news program. These two experiences only solidified Cyd’s passion to become a local news reporter.
Growing up in Salem, Cyd couldn’t be happier to be reporting locally. When not at work, you’ll likely see her outside with her wonderful boyfriend, Ian. Hiking, playing volleyball, camping - you name it, she loves the great outdoors Oregon offers. Cyd loves animals and children more than almost anything else in this world and she’s been known to make a quilt or two. Crafting is definitely one of her favorite pastimes.
