Chris McKee is a reporter / photographer for NewsSource 16.
Chris joined KMTR in January 2010 as the Douglas County News Bureau reporter / photographer. In January 2011, he moved to Lane County to cover news in the Eugene / Springfield area.
Chris has lived in Oregon his whole life. He grew up in Corvallis, then moved to Eugene for college, graduating from the University of Oregon in 2007 with a degree in broadcast journalism and a certificate in Film Studies. Chris began his career in Bend, where he was the Senior Producer for KOHD News and part of the station's inaugural news team.
In 2008, Chris and four of his UO classmates were honored with a Northwest Regional Emmy for their documentary titled, "Vanport: Oregon's Lost City." That same year, he and his co-workers at KOHD News were also Emmy nominated for a "Station Excellence" award.
In his spare time, Chris loves photography, cooking, computers and social networking, refereeing basketball games, even a little longboarding (think surfing on wheels) and living the dream.
