South Slough Reserve’s 40th Anniversary Celebration Picnic

America’s first national estuarine research reserve is celebrating 40 years of learning and teaching about estuaries. Join South Slough dignitaries, the Friends of South Slough (FOSS) and others for a picnic celebrating the 40th anniversary of our designation. FOSS will provide the grilled tuna, strawberry lemonade, ice tea and cupcakes from Crabby Cakes Bakery- bring your own picnic sides. Take a blanket to sit on the lawn and listen to live music from Che’s Lounge and the Dale Inskeep Band, tour the reserve Interpretive Center exhibits, and don’t forget to stop by the Unclaimed Property booth while you visit, you may discover you have something of value headed your way!**
We have a fun filled evening packed with activities that are detailed in the agenda below.
5:30-6:00: PM: Picnic, tuna grill, FOSS membership drive, unclaimed property booth, explore exhibits, classrooms, trails, etc…
6:00 PM: Welcome, two minute opening comments, award ceremony, guest speakers– Interpretive Center
6:20-7:20 PM: Picnic, tuna grill, music, FOSS membership drive, unclaimed property booth, explore exhibits, classrooms, trails, etc…
7:20-7:30 PM: Closing remarks, door prize drawings
7:30 -8:30 PM: Night Hike

**The Oregon Department of State Lands (DSL) administers the Unclaimed Property Program and receives millions of dollars each year for current and former Oregon residents. We are currently holding over 500 million dollars due 3 million+ owners. Common items reported includes uncashed payroll checks, stock and bonds, safe-deposit box contents, insurance proceeds, refunds, and bank accounts. We will have someone to assist you to search and claim at the picnic event, but you may always search for your name and file a claim at https://oregonup.us.
