The PLATYPUS CLARINET ORCHESTRA performs an eclectic program of Classical, Klezmer and Mexican music including compositions of Grieg, Vivaldi, Gershwin and others. The free concert is on Sunday, April 6 at 4PM at First United Methodist Church, 1376 Olive Street, Eugene. Suggested donation $10. Food will be collected for Food for Lane County.

The Platypus is a marsupial with a duckbill and a beaver tail. The group's 22 players hail from Eugene (the Ducks) and Corvallis (the Beavers). Their instrument of choice is the clarinet, in all sizes, ranging from the tiny # flat soprano to the elongated contra-alto. With players from the Eugene Symphony, the Corvallis-OSU Symphony, and the Eugene Community Orchestra, the ensemble covers orchestra music as well as cheery tunes from everyday life.
