The Eugene Symphonic Band, conducted by Dr. Tim Paul, continues its 56th season on Monday, March 10, 7:30pm, with their winter Concert in Beall Concert Hall at the University of Oregon, School of Music.

Conductor, Dr. Tim Paul, is associate professor and senior wind conductor at the University of Oregon, where he also serves as conducting area chair. He holds the D.M.A. in wind band conducting and literature from the University of Colorado, and the M.M. in music education from Florida State University. Paul maintains an active schedule as a guest conductor and clinician with high school honor bands and collegiate ensembles through the United States and internationally. He is president of the Northwest division of the college Band Directors' National Association.

The Eugene Symphonic Band was founded in 1957 by the late Robert Vagner, who was a long-time University of Oregon Band Director. The band consists of 50-60 local musicians from a variety of occupations who volunteer their time and talents, some of them traveling from as far away as Corvallis. The goals of the the band are to provide enjoyable concerts for the community while promoting the musicianship and esprit de corps that are unique to the concert band, and to award a college scholarship annually.
