If “typical” gun owners shoot themselves, why are so many gun owners still around (and, are the hospitals inundated by the wounded)?

Often in reporting news they do not use the same gun as the one actually used in the report-if you don't know that by now-it's a report about gun use or misuse. And the DEA used a loaded gun for a demonstration in front of a classroom? Gets me thinking people with guns legal or not are dangerous carrying around guns-no one can be too safe and evidently are not.

Actually Ricky, that is *not* the typical gun owner. The *VAST* majority of gun owners go through their entire lives without shooting themselves while doing something incredibly stupid. You might as well say that the idiot DEA agent who quite literally shot himself in the foot in front of a classroom full of kids (on video, no less - search on YouTube) is a representation of the typical law enforcement agent. As Loki60 said, this guy was being a moron. Thankfully he shot himself, and not his 20 year-old nephew. Hopefully he learned a valuable lesson in the importance of following the 4 safety rules.

one has to ask their self, how did they get away with this for so long that enabled them to collect the amount of money they did. Step up your efforts Oregon in regards to fraud. It is people like this that make it worse for those who really need the help.

as a gun owner, i want to slap this moron for being well, a moron. but i REALLY want to slap the editors at kmtr.com for putting a picture of "down the barrel" view of a large caliber revolver when the story was about a .22 caliber semi-automatic.
