Veteran broadcaster Jeff Kelly joined KMTR Oct. 2012. Jeff is a National Weather Association certified broadcast meteorologist and member of American Meteological Society.

Jeff has a diverse background in television and radio. He spent 13 years in Phoenix at KPNX and KPHO, as weatherman, anchor, live reporter and Hollywood reporter. In his role as Hollywood reporter, he interviewed hundreds of film stars and gave his take, on the new movies coming out.

At FOX 13 in Salt Lake City, Jeff was the chief meteorologist and outdoor recreation / travel reporter. He traveled to Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Alaska and all over the West Coast. Jeff also forecast the weather for stations in Montana, Colorado and was a guest weatherman in Hawaii, New Zealand and the Cayman Islands.

Before his Television career. Jeff spent over 16 years on radio in Los Angeles and San Diego at radio stations KLAC, KZLA, Star 98.7 and the Westwood One Radio Network-with 132 stations from coast to coast.

His first exposure to broadcasting was in the Los Angeles Dodgers stadium press box. Going to work with his Dad at the stadim, Jeff watched and learned from broadcasting legends Vin Scully, Dick Enberg and many more. The broadcast bug bit him at the age of 9, when he started calling play by play of games into his cassette recorder.

Jeff's first love is sports. Both of his brothers played professional baseball and his father spent 57 years as an executive for numerous major league baseball teams. Jeff's passion for track and field brought him to Eugene for the Olympic Trails. "Track Town USA, is the perfect playground for all my passions. "I can't believe I can be at a major track meet, top college football game, great concert, the beach and snow skiing all in one county, Lane County.. is amazing". "Everything I like to do is within a two hours drive".

He is a Level 2-USA Track and Field Coach- sprints, hurdles, relays and combined events, PSIA Ski Instructor, Athletic Development Coach and masters track athlete. Jeff recently tried his hand at stand-up comedy, performing at the Ice House in Pasadena, Calif. His next challenge includes completing all 10 events in the decathlon, in a masters track and field competition.."as soon as I learn to pole vault better, I can check this off my bucket list"

He is a proud member of the Oregon Track Club and is a passionate supporter of the Boys and Girls Club and Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Jeff is married and has a daughter and the best dog in the world, Jazz.
