Not everything needs to go into the scrap heap. If you're still doing seed starts this time of year, one thing you will need is flower pots, since you'll be doing a lot of transferring from smaller to bigger containers.
Two easy examples you can find around the house are rinsed out milk cartons and glass jars.
They'll make suitable containers for both your seed starts and a small herb garden.
To make it, all you'll need is a board, some jars, a few metal hose clamps with a hole drilled in each, and some screws with the ends clipped off. First, screw your clamps onto the board, then slip your jars into place and tighten them with a flathead screwdriver. You can hang your herbs vertically or horizontally. It'll make a nice addition to your porch or balcony.
