EUGENE, Ore. - A woman's goes through many changes during pregnancy to accommodate for the growing baby inside. With that comes some aches and pains. Massage therapy can help mama get through her pregnancy with a little more ease.
"Pregnancy massage has many, many benefits. It has been shown to actually improve labor outcomes and improve newborn health. During pregnancy, it can increase blood flow which helps reduce the risk of anemia during pregnancy," says Kelsey Khatter, a licensed massage therapist.

Khatter has special training. She knows different techniques and positions to  help mama feel better through every stage of her journey.
"It's also great for relieving edema. So, if a woman has a lot of swelling in her ankles or maybe her hands, massage is great for helping that," says Khatter.
Khatter says there are certain pressure points on the feet and hands that should be avoided. "Some people believe it will trigger labor if you really stimulate those points a lot. Again, it's not the magic button. It's not going to happen like that. Just out of caution we avoid those points."

With all of those body changes, why not take an hour or two and pamper yourself?
